Recurring interaction patterns were being redesigned across DaveAI’s client projects, leading to duplicated effort and inconsistent experiences. The central challenge was deciding which behaviours should remain consistent across implementations and where flexibility was essential to accommodate different brands, tasks and devices.

The experience combined two connected layers: conversation for guidance, and a modular workspace for exploration, comparison and task completion. Shared component rules and response states established a common interaction foundation, with room to adapt the interface and content to each client’s context.

The interface hierarchy changed with the task. On mobile, five adaptive views prioritised either avatar guidance, detailed responses or task content. Explicit listening, processing and response states clarified system activity, while controls for interruption, editing and resubmission preserved user control throughout the exchange.

With 40+ reusable components and interaction patterns, the framework became a shared reference for 12 designers and developers across 8 client implementations. Applications ranged from financial guidance to employee support, demonstrating its adaptability across distinct contexts. The case study reports 55% faster design and development turnaround.
